Workspaces: Marie-Claude Mallat from MCMPR

Meet Marie-Claude Mallat, the Founder and Director of MCMPR - a luxury Australian brand strategy and creative ideas agency who work with some of the most premium brands in the world including Net-A-Porter, Zimmermann, Bassike, Loewe, Tory Burch and many more.
Founded 23 years ago by Marie-Claude herself, MCMPR has become recognised as one of the leading Australian go-to agencies and is know for their brand strategy, public relations, VIP and influencer cultivation, events and activations, marketing partnerships and consumer relations.
We visited Marie-Claude Mallat at her beautiful new HQ in Darlington, Sydney to talk about her career, her advice, the ways she stays organised and of course - her new space.
Why did you decided to start MCMPR?
I started MCMPR because of my love for fashion. And there really was (when I started) a moment in the market place where emerging designers were really looking for support and direction.
There are days (now) where I wake up and think how amazing to be working with these incredible International brands, with this amazing team that we have at MCMPR.

As business women, who is your support network?
Primarily my family and my friends. My husband has always offered me really great, and sound, practical advice. My father is a really wise person and has always been really instinctive about people and has given me lots of direction in that space, but also he has been very very supportive.
However, I would have to say, that the biggest supporters have been my team. My General Manager has been amazing, and things wouldn't happen on a day-to-day basis without her.
Talk to us about this beautiful new MCMPR space...
We found this new space (located in Darlington, Sydney) last year and absolutely fell in love with it. The natural curves and arches. It had great bones and was perfect for us.
How to do stay organised day-to-day?
I like to write everything down. I find when I write things down I'm able to commit it to memory so I tend to use a diary.
I also work a lot off lists so I do like a lined book or notebook. It allows me to list everything I need to do and then I'm able to highlight or tick those things off.
What are you disorganised at?
Filing my emails!
What would your advice be to your younger self when you were about to launch your business?
I think my advice would be - back yourself to believe in your instinct and to just go for it.
