Watch Our Founder, Beck Wadworth, Makeover Her Living Room From Start to Finish!

As some of you may know, I recently made the move from Sydney, back to my home country of New Zealand. When I lived in Sydney, I always knew I would move home one day, and never invested too heavily in furniture or homewares. Moving home has meant my creative interiors brain has gone into overdrive and I have had so much fun dressing up our new home in Parnell, Auckland one room at a time. I thought I would share my journey with you all...
Disclaimer: we are only renting this amazing abode we don't own it :p
THEME:
My interiors style is very minimal and clean. I love fresh white walls, and wooden floors and I prefer to add texture and tones rather than lots of colours! My motto is less is more.
MAKEOVER SPACE: The Living Room
(Starting with a blank canvas! How beautiful are the white walls and wooden floors?!)
MY STRATEGY + RULES:
First off, I wanted to make over the living room - it's a space my boyfriend and I spend a lot of time in and I loved the character details of the mock fire place and built in shelving that was already part of the beautiful space. My rule was trying to keep 2/3 light and 1/3 dark. My strategy was to keep the room decluttered and fresh, with a minimal and monochrome feel pared back with neutral tones and textures. I mixed the space up with luxe high quality furniture and I didn't mind spending less on the smaller details if the look and feel was right. The space is very low maintenance and it's some where we can feel inspired but can also relax! It gets the afternoon light, perfect for a post work wine in the sun! Bliss.
FURNITURE:
I wanted to invest in furniture that reflected my style and inspired me. St Clements was a no brainer and I have followed them on Instagram for a long time. Not only is the furniture timeless and chic, it's also relaxed and easy to maintain with all the fabrics dry cleanable or washable on a delicate cold wash (bonus!) - making the lighter tones not so risky!
SHOP THE LOOK:
NEUTRAL TONES:
I love adding neutral tones and textures into my home. Usually this is through artwork, or wooden furniture, and I also love throwing in some gold to break up the black and white! Shop my faves below.
SHOP THE LOOK:
St Clements Cocktail Coffee Table
St Clements Tonk Stool in White
Butler Tray Table from Freedom Furniture (much cheaper solution compared to a drinks trolley)
Circular Mirror from Kmart (such a find!)
ARTWORK:
Instead of investing in artwork Jason and I decided to print and frame our own photographs from our travels. Jason has a great eye when it comes to photography and he took some incredible photos on his film camera when we escaped to Italy & Paris this year. All the images brought back special memories that are unique to us, and I LOVE the floral print above the fireplace. We had them printed from a place called Fred Snow in Australia and I brought the frames from Country Road. They were actually very reasonable to create and it was such a fun project! I would highly recommend - we printed ours on the textured paper with white borders.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Floral Print by Jason Domancie - available on request email beck@anorganisedlife.com
One Soul art print by Loulou Avenue from Paper Planes (ordered with frame - highly recommend)
THE LITTLE DETAILS:
It's always the little details at the end that really perfect a space and make it truely your own. For me I love adding candles, plants, and my favourite coffee table books.
Coffee Table Book Titles: Tom Ford, Kate Moss, Carine RoitfeldCandles from Lumira Tuscan Fig and Tonic of Gin, Jo Malone London Honeysuckle and Davana, Diptyque,
Perfume from Jo Malone London and Le Labo
Maison Balzac Glass Carafe
Small Vases from Kmart Here and Here
Champagne from Veuve Clicquot
Whisky / Tumbler Glasses from Freedom Furniture (they are only $6.95!)
Watch this space for the next room reveal (note it might take me a while, I'm spreading out my budget and taking my time!)
Thanks
