We love a good organisation hack at the HQ, so we thought we would start sharing some of ours with you all. They're simple but very effective! If you have one you want to share with the AOL community simply email email@example.com to submit it!
Create a Monday Focus / Goal
BECK: Monday is the perfect day to create focus & direction for your week. Take 5 minutes on Monday morning to assess what your focus or goal is. It can be big or small, personal, professional or financial.
To-Do List Trick
SARA: I'm a big to-do list person, so much so that I have a work, personal and self care to do list EVERY DAY.. even on the weekends. I believe self care is just as important as ticking off your work or life admin to-do list. I write a little list to make myself accountable to take the time to focus on me each day but I call them my 'promises'. I have a morning promises & night promises list which is my way of keeping myself in routine.
Create A Car Kit
BECK: Life is fast paced & I always like to be prepared. I've created an easily accessible 'essentials kit' that I keep in my glove box. It includes a phone charger, panadol, hair tie, lip balm, hand sanitiser, perfume, concealer, & a first aid kit.
Storage Bin Index
Storage bins are a great way to organise different areas of your home or workspace however the more we have the harder it is to remember what box has what in it. Solve this problem by labelling each box with a short & simple list. Keep it at the front of the box where it is easy to read & see. If you don't want to stick labels on your boxes/bins, you can also number each storage bin & in a binder, have a dedicated page to each corresponding number that contains a list of the contents of each bin.
Clear Space = a Clear Mind
NIKITA: Always finish your day with a clear space (both your home & desk), it allows you to start the next day with a clear space & mind.
BECK: And adding onto Nikita's point, before you leave the office or your desk in the evening is the best time to write your to-do list for the following day. Get mentally prepared & then clock off for the day knowing your organised for the next morning.
Create An Online Fitness Schedule
SAM: Recently I have been trying various online workout classes at home. I like to create a personalised fitness schedule for each week to ensure accountability and create greater consistency in my workout routine. I try to include a variety of classes into my weekly schedule like cardio, HIIT, Pilates strengthening classes, or stretch classes. Every week is different which keeps it interesting and motivating.
TIP: No matter what you do for your fitness schedule make sure you add your plans into your diary or to-do lists so that it becomes part of your schedule & you ensure you do it!
