Throughout the year it's important to reflect, review + refocus and now more than ever it's the perfect time for a mid year reset. We have some tips to help you get back on track with your goals, focus on positivity and get back into routine.
1. Revisit Your Goals & Intentions
Look at your goals and intentions from the beginning of 2021, are you on track to achieve them? Or perhaps they may need to change which is ok. If you need to set some new goals and intentions now is the time to do so with just over 6 months left of the year to dedicate to ticking off these goals.
Manifest your success, you really need to believe in yourself to be able to achieve your goals too. It’s all about visualising your future, that energy is what will help you to move forward and get through the remainder of the year positively.
2. Schedule Appointments
Go through your diary & schedule in any appointments that you need to do or have been putting off! For example; The Dentist, Mole Check, General Health Check Up, Car Service etc. It's such a satisfying feeling to be able to tick things off your life admin to-do list.
3. Set A Mid Year Budget
With everything going on, now is the perfect time to prep & plan your budget for the rest of 2020 & further. It's also a great time to set a Festive / Summer Season budget too so you can start setting aside some funds for over the holiday period without feeling stressed or stretched.
4. Write a 2021 To-Do List
Different to your goals, write a simple to-do list of fun things you want to do before the end of the year, things to do by yourself & also with friends & family. For example
- Places you want to visit
- Restaurants you want to try
- People you want to see
- Classes you want to do
Keep it somewhere where you can see it often & slowly tick this off over the next 6 months.
5. Declutter Your Life
Decluttering isn’t about throwing things away, it’s about understanding what items you use and absolutely love, what things serve a purpose to you. It's a great way to mentally reset & organise at the same time. Once you’ve decluttered (organised or donated items in your space) introduce systems & processes to help you stay organised for e.g. labelling jars & containers in your pantry, organising your wardrobe in types & by colour or creating a filing system for any important documents.
Decluttering also extends to tech, remove any unused files on your computer, apps on your phone and email subscriptions that land in your inbox. Be conscious of the planet and avoid single use products where you can.
6. Create A Routine
As we reset and refocus for the remaining 6 months of the year it's important to look at your current routine & see if anything needs adjusting. Do you want to start getting up earlier? Do you want to allocate time in your routine for meal prep, exercising, family time or journaling? Review your current routine & make an effort to change if change is needed.
7. Create A Moodboard
Get reinspired with what you want your life to look & feel like by creating a vision or moodboard for the remainder of 2021. This is a fun activity you can do to bring some positivity into your life while also being helpful in creating direction. Start with a concept, this could be a word you want to focus on, a project or include key areas of your life (family, exercise, self care or travel) and start getting creative. A moodboard can also help motivate you to pick up projects again that may have been put on hold due to current happenings in the world.
8. Focus On Your Wellbeing
Now is a great time to set some focus on your wellbeing too. Have a think about what you want to focus on and maybe what you have been neglecting - it might be getting outside for 20 minutes a day, your wind down routine, or working out X amount of times a week, the self care practices you want to add to your routine or to start writing a daily journal.
