The Art Of Slowing Down

We spend so much time focusing on getting things done, it’s just as important to focus on the quiet moments to create balance & avoid burnout and overwhelm. Exploring this balance we discover the art of slowing down.
Slowing down means prioritising your mental & physical health while also being present in the moment, taking time to enjoy all the little moments to their fullest. From that last minute before you hop out of bed, your morning coffee, the first person you say hello to in the day, appreciating the scenery on your morning commute, connecting with loved ones, or just taking a moment to focus on your breathing or having a stretch throughout the day. These are small but common things we often overlook that with intention can be a moment of gratitude. Slowing down is letting go of the self imposed pressure to be everywhere and everything at once.
In exploring this art of slowing down it’s also a beautiful time to look at your 2022 to-do list or bucket list, things you identified at the beginning of the year as those that would fill up your cup… meeting up with an old (or new) friend, watching the sunrise or sunset or taking yourself on a solo date. Often when we slow down it makes us aware of the things that are really important to us and how we would want to spend our ‘ideal day’. Listen to those inner thoughts and refresh your routine to incorporate those things, do you want to add journaling, more walks, meal planning, or a good wind down routine?
