A lot can happen in 365 days, & (as you know) at AOL we are big on writing New Year's Resolutions, Goals & also taking the time to reflect back on the previous 12 months & remembering your favourite moments. So... we chatted to 3 inspiring women including Olivia Ruello, Eleanor Pendleton & Natalie Cantell & asked them what some of their favourite moments were personally & professionally from 2019.
2019 has been a huge year! There have been so many pinch me moments and I am finishing 2019 with such an enormous amount of gratitude in my heart.
My husband and I moved into our dream family home with our little girl Gracie. I got to sail the southern coast of Turkey with the most incredible bunch of women for Emma Isaacs’ 40th. I got to lead a Business Chicks group to the foothills of the Himalayas, India, for our leadership immersion with The Hunger Project, I got to watch the sun set on Cable Beach, Broome with 150 Business Chicks members at our Movers and Breakers conference, I got to spend time with Sarah Jessica Parker and SO many everyday inspiring women doing amazing things. I literally have a ‘moment’ almost everyday where I pinch myself about how amazing our team is at Business Chicks and watching them thrive and flourish makes me heart sing.
This year has been by far the biggest of my life - both personally and professionally. On a personal level, I fell pregnant twice this year– miscarrying my first in January and falling pregnant again soon after with my baby boy or girl who is due any minute now. Any woman who has experienced pregnancy knows it's an experience - your body and life undergoes many changes but I feel so grateful to be starting the family I've always dreamed of. On a professional level, my team has grown, we moved into a new office space and we coordinated 5 reader events across 3 cities. I've travelled all over the world - including Paris & Switzerland - and continued to create content with some of my favourite beauty brands and clients. I'm very grateful for this year but am looking forward to an even better 2020!
It’s always to do with travel! We had such a beautiful trip to Hawaii, it really reminded me how I need to get myself in the ocean regularly in order to feel like myself. Then last month, Jake and I jumped on a long weekend in Amsterdam and had such a fantastic time. We somehow forget that flying to Europe from here is so easy and can be a steal, we’re determined to keep our eyes peeled so we can pull the trigger on more last-minute adventures in 2020.
Professionally, it was really fun to creative direct Juliette Hogan’s campaign in NYC this summer with the JH team and Guy Coombes. Shooting with people you love is always the best, and it gets me so excited to work with Kiwi and Australian designers and brands to create beautiful imagery in New York. That’s my favorite kind of work.
