How To Set Yourself Up For A Successful Week

“People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures.” - F.M. Alexander
Success can be ticking everything off your to-do list or it might mean a week of good work-life balance. Whatever success means to you, these tips and habits to implement into your life will be the foundation in setting yourself up for a successful week.
Set Intention
It’s common that Sundays bring about a little bit of pre-week worry as the joy of the weekend is coming to a close. Set intention & focus on positivity going into your week, there is so much power in our thoughts. Your intention can either be telling yourself you are going to have a great week or you can pick a word of intention for the week, this could be energised, productive, balanced, peaceful etc. Take away the stress of Monday by seeing it as a day to get ahead, spend Monday getting through admin and planning a solid to-do list for the week ahead that will ensure the rest of your week will be scheduled and productivity will flow without the stress.
Write Tomorrows To-Do List Today
Check your schedule for tomorrow and write a to-do list (even just a draft). Eventually you will get into the routine of writing a big to-do list on a Friday afternoon for the coming week, again this can just be a draft with no set structure but in doing so will better allow you to disconnect from work and enjoy your down time.
Create A Sunday Routine
Preparation is key to getting your mind in the right headspace to tackle the week ahead. Set aside 10 minutes to sit down with your diary & look over your schedule for the week. Do you have any important meetings to plan for, nights you won’t be home for dinner or mornings you need to leave earlier for coffee dates or gym classes? A Sunday routine is the perfect time to do your laundry, prep your meals for the week, prep your outfits & set any alarms and reminders. Focusing just a little time on a Sunday to prep can make such a big difference to the flow and mindset of your week.
Relax & Recharge
Time to rest (& play) is crucial to a successful week, place priority on using your down time to actually relax and do things you enjoy. This looks different for everyone, maybe it’s being social with friends or family, cooking yourself a nourishing meal, reading a book, going for a walk or binge watching your favourite show.
Create A Schedule That Works For You
Success in all its forms requires dedication and consistency; however it’s also understanding your strengths, knowing when you’re most productive and harnessing those times & also knowing how much rest you need and being in tune with your mind and body. This knowledge of self gives you the tools to structure your day to flow in a way that’s best for you.
