Well, we're half way through the crazy year that is 2020! And... the 6 month mark is always a good time to reflect, review & refocus. A lot can happen in a year, and it’s extremely important to have a strategy, game plan and goals set in place.
We understand that 2020 has been a challenging year for many, but we are also big believers in the power of positive thinking, looking ahead & controlling the controllables.
Below are four simple things you should do this week (or month) to set focus for the next 6 months:
Control the Controllables
2020 will be a year we all remember, no matter where in the world we live. And although a lot is completely out of our hands, there are also areas of our life where we can control the controllable.
Write a list of things in your life you can control at the moment (everyone will be different).
- Write a list of things you cannot control at the moment
- Keep these lists handy. Acknowledge the 2nd list but focus on the 1st list.
For example it might be that you can control your wellbeing, your happiness, certain finances etc. Focus on these areas.
Revisit Your Goals
Look at your goals and intentions from the beginning of 2020, are you on track to achieve them? Or perhaps they may need to change which is ok. If you need to set some new goals and intentions now is the time to do so with just 6 months left of the year to dedicate to ticking off these goals.
*If you have one of our diaries, you will find some pages dedicated to mid year goal setting in your diary this week *
In order to live your best life this year, you really need to believe in yourself. Having a strong vision, commitment to seeing your goals through to the end, and the belief you can do it (no matter what), can really be the defining difference to making your dreams a reality.
It’s all about manifesting success and visualising your future. Don’t get me wrong - you will need to work very very hard, but focusing on the positives and pushing yourself forward will pay off in the long run.
Put Yourself First
And finally, the fourth simple step you can do this week is focus on putting yourself first for the rest of 2020. Take the time to push yourself, to do those things you have always wanted to do or focus on, and also identify when you need a little R+R time.
All the best for 2020, you can do it!
