How to Update & Organise Your Winter Wardrobe
Winter = Ripped denim jeans, a cashmere knit, sneakers/leather boots, and a staple black coat! Agreed?!
I live in this type of look over Winter and I love it. Below are a few tips and tricks to keeping your Winter wardrobe looking damn fine!
1. THE TWO STAPLES UNDER $100
Two essentials I think every one of you need in your wardrobes this winter are:
Believe it or not but both of these staples are under $100 and I absolutely live in mine over Winter. I highly recommend you do the same!
To keep your jeans in tip top shape, make sure you wear them for as long as possible; and prolong washes by using Mr Black Denim Refresh. It's designed to clean, refresh and prevent stains from settling into denim. Life saver!
When you first wash your jeans, make sure you turn them inside out. Soak them for about an hour in water with 15ml of Mr Black Denim Wash, rinse and hang to air dry.
2. THE COAT
A good Winter Coat is the icing on the cake to Winter wardrobes! I always opt for the Black or Grey colour palette and love a long length coat to mix back with denim and sneakers or to dress up with a leather boots, a cashmere turtle neck and deep plum lip.
- At the end of Winter make sure you dry clean or hand wash your coats & knitwear before you put them into storage - it will help maintain their look & feel rather than festering in old stains for months! Make sure you take the time to remove any pilling as well.
3. THE HANDBAG
I'm not going to lie, in Winter my wardrobe is removed of any touch of colour (apart from the odd splash of Navy) so when it comes to accessories - I love investing in a statement leather bag to give my outfits more edge over Winter.

Always store your leather handbags in their dust bags (and stuff the insides) when you are not using them. This will help them maintain their shape and condition.
Give your bag a brisk sweep with a soft dry cloth everyday - this will only take a few minutes, but will go miles towards preserving the appearance of your leather.
Make sure you find out what type of leather your bag is and ask the shop assistant the best way to weatherproof & condition it.
4. COSY UP
When it comes to knitwear my biggest rule is to invest in 100% cashmere or merino wool - it will keep you cosy and last longer. This season I have spent a lot of time hunting for the perfect knitwear basics that are really quality & a great shape. Below are two brands that have taken my fancy:
Make sure you fold all your knitwear, don't hang it - it will stretch. Gah!
If you are lacking drawer space, fold you knitwear in half (shoulder to shoulder) and drap it over a hanger.
5. INVESTMENT BOOTS
Now that I am in my mid twenties, I have come to appreciate the value of a good leather boot. Don't get me wrong it's definitely a treat and a splurge but its worth it. This Winter I have finally invested in the Alexander Wang Kori Oxford Booties and they are by far the most comfortable boot I have ever owned.
Keep your leather boots stored nicely in shoe boxes over the winter. I'm slightly obsessed with the Sagitine ones I discovered earlier in the year.
A good pair of leather boots should last for years. If your's get minor damage e.g. cracked soles, pull stitches etc make sure you take the time to get them restored! It's worth it.
6. DRESS IT UP
Finally - have a bit of fun with your Winter wardrobe. This Georgia Alice Marooned Gather Jumper is an edgy tran-seasonal addition to my wardrobe that fits my monochrome style quite nicely! If you haven't already, make sure you check her out. She's a talented babe from NZ who is absolutely killing it! x
